Braden River High School

Braden River High School is the newest high school in Manatee County and is located on the corner of State Road 70 and Caruso Road. The school is comprised of an auditorium/music room, spacious gymnasium/media center, cafeteria, and three academic cluster buildings. The campus also includes a football/soccer stadium, baseball and softball fields, a soccer practice field and outdoor basketball courts. The school’s curriculum will include several Advanced Placement and honors courses; programs focusing on Business, TV/Video Production, Engineering and other vocational skills; and an agricultural program featuring nine greenhouses and other equipment left by a former University of South Florida Lab.

Carlos E. Haile Middle School

Carlos E. Haile Middle Schools is named for one of the Manatee County’s greatest educators. Haile Middle School has three interdisciplinary teaching teams for the 6th grade. Each team includes a guidance counselor and assistant principal to assist teachers and meet the needs of students. Exploratory and elective courses include band, orchestra, chorus, agriscience, business technology, industrial technology, art and high school spanish. A full range of extracurricular activities are offered including television production, school newspaper, school yearbook, student council, national junior honor society, FFA, FBLA, TSA and various intramural activities which are offered in the YMCA before and after school program.

Freedom Elementary School

Freedom Elementary School is located next to Haile Middle School and is only minutes from Heritage Harbour. This new elementary school has been designed to house 822 student stations in a one-story, 116,000 sq. ft. building. The K through 5 program has six kindergarten classrooms, 16 first through third grade classrooms, and 10 fourth and fifth grade classrooms. Other educational spaces include Music, Art, Exceptional Education, Physical Education, Media Center, and Skills Development laboratories.


The Florida public school system rates its schools every year through an Accountability Report using letter designations (A through F) to define a school’s level of academic excellence. The schools within the Heritage Harbour school district have all been rated as fine schools with either the designation of A or B.
